Consultations

Initial consultationswindonInside2.png

The first appointment usually takes about an hour, and involves a discussion regarding your symptoms, medical history, diet and lifestyle and any other factors you feel may be relevant.

It is helpful if you can bring details of any medications or supplements you are taking. This initial consultation allows a picture of your overall health to be built up, which helps determine the underlying cause of any symptoms you may be experiencing. This is important as herbal medicine is directed at the root cause of ill-health, as well as at reducing your symptoms.

This thorough consultation allows the herbal medicine you receive to be tailored specifically to you and your overall health. You may be prescribed herbal medicine, tea, cream, capsules, oils or syrups. There may be diet or lifestyle changes which would help your symptoms. Medical Herbalists are also trained to recognise when it is necessary or beneficial to refer a patient to their GP, or another healthcare practitioner.

Follow-up consultations

Follow-up consultations are used to monitor your progress, and provide an opportunity to discuss questions you may have. This appointment is likely to last about 40 minutes.

Fees

▪︎ Consultations: Initial (1 hour) £60 and follow-up (40 minutes) £45
▪︎ Herbal medicine: Generally £10 per week (100ml tincture), however, this will vary according to your individual prescription, as teas, syrups, oils, creams or capsules may be prescribed.

I accept cash, cheque, debit cards or PayPal for payment.

Fees are reviewed on 1st January each year and raised to cover the increasing costs of herbal medicines.
